What is personal data?
Any information related to a person which can be used to directly, or indirectly, identify the person. It can be a name, a photo, an email address, bank details, posts on social media, medical information, or a computer IP address.
Is all personal data treated the same?
No, personal data is broken down further into different categories of personal data. “Special Category personal data” is any information which relates to a person which reveals their racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religion or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, and the processing of genetic data, biometric data for the purposes of uniquely identifying a natural person, data concerning health or data concerning a person’s sex life or sexual orientation. Processing of “special category personal data” is prohibited unless certain requirements are met. Tigers4Ever does not collect, process or hold “special category personal data”.
Parental consent is required to process the personal data of children under the age of 16 for online services. Some European Economic Area (EEA) member states may legislate for a lower age of consent of 13, however, we will comply with the higher law when processing the personal data of children.

Donations and volunteers: if you donate to a campaign or pledge to give your time as a volunteer then your details will be provided to us in order to enable us to contact you to regarding your purchase, membership, wild tiger adoption (and/or to claim gift aid, where relevant) or to arrange for you to assist us as a volunteer. Please note that this processing is performed by Tigers4Ever once we have received data from our third party donations handlers: PayPal, Total Giving, Wildcrowd, Global Giving and Give As You Live; and whilst we take steps to ensure that all partners which collect funds on our behalf comply with their data protection obligations, Tigers4Ever cannot control and shall not be liable for the actions of third parties.
Requests to receive information: Tigers4Ever offers its users a number of ways to stay informed of its activities. Where you subscribe to receive updates and/or a newsletter from Tigers4Ever then we will hold your personal data for the purpose of enabling us to deliver those updates to you until you notify us that you wish to unsubscribe.

Where we store your Personal Data
The data that we collect from you will be stored within the European Economic Area ("EEA").
Data which we receive from you or our third party payment providers which is received from outside the EEA will be treated in accordance with the same legal requirements as if it were received from within the EEA.

The act gives you the right to access information held about you. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the act. You have the right to request access to the personal data which Tigers4Ever holds about you. In normal circumstances this will be provided to you free of charge, except in limited circumstances and we will explain these to you where they are relevant.
